Melissa Schweizer

Manager of Research and Development

Melissa Schweizer is the Manager of Research and Development at PercAssist, where she is instrumental in leading the successful design, verification, and advancement of the company’s PercAssist eVAD™ System.

A proven leader in the MedTech industry, Melissa specializes in driving Class II/III cardiovascular devices through development milestones. Prior to PercAssist, she was a core team member at Penumbra, Inc., where she spearheaded all Design Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for a novel delivery microcatheter, culminating in its successful commercialization. Her comprehensive experience includes completion of the R&D Leadership Development Program at Johnson & Johnson MedTech (Auris Health, Ethicon, and Mentor); design control processes from concept through commercialization.

Melissa holds an M.S.E. in Bioengineering Innovation and Design from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S.E. in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
