Albert K. Chin, M.D. serves as the Chief Innovation and Product Development Officer for PercAssist. In his 47-year commitment in medical device invention and development, he has created products in the cardiovascular field that have collectively generated over $4.0 billion in revenue. Dr. Chin’s inventions, including the VasoView and Venapax devices, are recognized as standard-of-care devices in coronary bypass procedures and have been used by over 2.5 million patients worldwide.

His entrepreneurial impact encompasses co-founding several highly successful medical device companies, including: Origin Medsystems, Guidant and Boston Scientific Cardiac Surgery, Saphena Medical, TAS Medical, PercAssist, FemDx Medsystems, and Orare Medsystems. A prolific inventor, Dr. Chin holds an extraordinary portfolio of 238 issued U.S. patents and has authored 60 academic publications. 

Dr. Chin has a background in mechanical engineering and general surgery, with degrees from MIT (B.S.), Stanford University (M.S.), and University of California, San Francisco (M.D.).
